Water Right

Here is a little bit about Water Right Company and what we do that makes us different from other hose companies.

First of all, we design products we want to use at our home. We design products our friends and family would love using. We design and manufacture for our ultimate customer...you.

Secondly, the Ultra Slim & Light polyurethane garden hose that we manufacture here in Oregon is 100% USA made.  We are very proud to say that.

Here's more. As you know, garden hose has been a product way over due for a complete make-over.  We addressed everything people did not like about garden hose ( heavy, stiff, leaky, kinks, ugly, short-life, smells funny, leaches toxic chemicals, fittings smash easily, etc, etc.) and went on a mission to re-invent the garden hose.

When we decided to start up Water Right, we spent 3 years in the R & D lab (my back yard and a good friends shop) engineering the perfect garden hose.  The goal was to produce a garden hose people would rave about.  Can you imagine ever raving about a garden hose?

Here is how we did it. (simplified version)

We started with the resin.  We wanted a material unlike any other that would allow us to produce a slim garden hose design, be extremely durable, have tremendous flexibility, and be the lightest and garden hose on the planet. It also had to be drinking water safe (free from lead and phthalates) and work in all-weather conditions.  We were in search of the perfect thermoplastic.

Selection:  Polyether-Based Polyurethane Thermoplastic Elastomer. Wow. That's something you don't talk about every day.

From there we were faced with developing an extrusion process that would allow us to manufacture a very strong, kink-free hose design while maintaining a very sleek hose profile.  Can you say challenging? After that we machined solid brass fittings, had them trivalent chrome-plated and developed engineered flexible hose ends to provide industrial quality connections that would not leak or break.  Done.

To complete the project we needed COLOR...nothing but beautiful colors: espresso, eggplant, cranberry, olive.  Maybe even a little bit of robin's egg blue for Martha Stewart. We found a pigment supplier who said they could make us any color we wanted and we were on our way.
